Asbestos includes a group of natural materials that are mined in quarries.
Asbestos fibers are very strong, resistant to fire, heat and corrosion, mechanical force, chemicals and are characterized by a long span.
These advantages, combined with its low cost, led to the widespread use of asbestos for thermal insulation and as a building material over the last century. However, it was proven that asbestos caused various respiratory diseases and primarily lung cancer when it disintegrated and released fibers.
Currently, using asbestos is prohibited and all existing asbestos is being removed from such locations as schools and public facilities.
Due to its inherent danger, removal of the asbestos must be performed professionally and in accordance with the laws and regulations established on the matter.
